Hello. I am a bit new to Cinema 4D. I am trying to create an animation in which a light can pulse/change it’s brightness with a beat. I can’t figure out how to connect the sound effector to a light. Can anyone help?

there’s a tutorial here at the Cow by Mylenium https://library.creativecow.net/articles/mylenium/Mograph_beautiful_noise.php

There was also a Sound Effector tutorial in the Classic Tutorials on the v10 disk (don’t know if it’s on the v11 disks)

Thanks so much Brian. I’m new to Xpresso, got a lot to learn.

I’m still having a bit of trouble. What node would I attach the range mapper to on the light? I want the light to pulse as a volumetric light within a sphere. I can’t seem to get the light to react to the sound effector.

range mapper would go into VL Outer Distance or maybe Falloff – whichever works for you. Just make sure the output lower and output upper are sensible values
