Animating hair
Posted by Gerald Hapeman on March 15, 2013 at 11:04 pmCreating an animation and looking to create some natural hair movement in a light wind. Cell by cell animation I’m trying to avoid. Any suggestions for a good approach?

March 17, 2013 at 5:09 pmCC Hair has always come with AE, but the only thing I have ever used it for was grass. “Natural” hair movement might not be a possibility, since that implies gravity, weight, density, and wind, but it would be worth trying, since the plugin is part of the standard install. Here’s a really good tutorial from VideoCopilot to give you some ideas – although he’s going for grass:

March 17, 2013 at 5:23 pmThank you very much, I’ll check it out! I was looking for a tut on trapcode where I believe you can add an image (in my case, a thick strand of hair) and it can be multiplied in trap… and there I can use the availability of the gravity, weight, density, and wind… Searching and researching that.
