    i was also wondering how to do this and just figured it out. (why would you say you figured it out without explaining. very silly) Anyway, here is the way I found. After creating a text layer, expand the layer to reveal the Text options in the Comp view. There is a property called “Source Text.” Key this, move down the timeline, change the font in the character panel, and you will notice a new key. Eureka! A note: this is only a step keyframe and cannot be smoothed. I imagine you could fake this with some mesh warping, but that would take time if you have a lot of changes you want to key.
