  • Animating a long layer along a motion path

    Hi Guys,

I’m having a problem, I have a long PSD layer that i want to animate along a Spiral motion path imported from illustrator, i want the effect of the layer being animated and curved like a tornado down the spiral.

I’ve tried pasting the path on the position and playing with orientation, but the layer stays long and solid rather than bending around the curves of this spiral.

I hope you can help me, i would be very grateful.

    Many thanks

    Michael

If the spiral isn’t too tight, you could use the puppet tool or a few of AE’s distort tools to bend the image, but you’re not going to get it wrapping around itself in 3d without purchasing additional plug-ins. (Zaxwerks and, I believe, Digital Anarchy have some that might help.)

I second this question… would love to know how to do it (without any crazy manual puppet/distorting… I want a long image to bend along the a bezier path)
