    Hi folks,

I would like to do the effect often seen in old films where a line traces the path of a plane, train or automobile to show the route taken between points on a map.

Does that make sense? Can’t think of another way to put it!

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Make the line in a graphics application like Photoshop. Then animate a wipe or a garbage matte to reveal the line.

    All the best,

    Tom

You could also make short work of it using G Lines from nattress.com:

Thanks for the lead, Enzo, Nattress looks perfect for what I want to do.

No probs. Nattress plugins are definitely top shelf. I swear by mine, and I’d say you’ll probably get exactly what you want out of them.
