    Hi All,
    I just need some advice as to the best way to go about solving my issue.
    Basically I want to create a circle (a few pixels thick, not filled) to which I can animate the size, that is make it grow and contract over time. Something like the graphics you

    Try this:

    1. Make a new solid.
    2. Add a circular mask to it.
    3. Apply effect>render>stroke to the mask. In the effect settings you can make it show the stroke only.
    4. Animate the size of the solid or the size of the mask.

    If you want the animation to follow music, look into Trapcode’s SoundKeys plugin.

    Effects>Render>Circle

    Set ‘edge’ to thickness and animate the Radius how you like.
