  • Animating a character with a box

    Hi, please help!
I am trying to animate a character with a box in his hands. Actually he is picking the box up from the floor. But I can’t synchronize the box movement with the hands and body. How do you do that? Do you “fix” something to something? Is there a tutorial?
    Thank you so much

What I would do is use constraint tags (character tags>constraint) on the hand controllers. Set them to parent mode and reference the box object. First place the hands on the box the way you want them. Make sure you have “Maintain Original” checked in the tags’ Offset section.

Now, when you move the box, the hands will follow along. Turn the tags’ strength parameter to zero to remove the constraint.

I right clicked the box and created a psr constrain and I choose L_hand tip and R_hand tip (bones) as targets. It works ok but when I play it, it seems the box as some kind of delay comparing to the hands. Why? Has it to be parent constrain?

I have resolved that problem but I have another question! Please help
Is it possible to make an object solid so (taking the example above) the hands will not go through the box?
    Thank you

There is no built-in collision detection, but it’s possible to do with Xpresso and the ray collision node.
