    Hi,

I’m not sure if this is After Effects of FCP related… I’m animating some text in AFX and I’ve been noticing a weird thing. I create my titles with the text tool and convert to outlines to apply some effects (drop shadow, etc). When I render out I see sometimes a fine vertical line appear for a few frames here when teh text moves and there that appears to be the edge of the 720×480 frame (my setup for the comp) when I animate the titles moving from left to right let’s say. This happens with imported Illustrator outlines as well for titles. I had a work around in Illustrator for it but forget what it was. Anybody else experiencing this problem and have a solution for it? I’m exporting as “lossless+alpha” for import into FCP. Interestingly when I look at the QT file itself of just the render it looks clean.

The artefact could be due to your display card. Your best bet is to bring the rendered movie into FCP and view the results on a broadcast monitor.

Is there a reason why you are converting the text layer to outlines? Unless you want to manipulate the mask shapes to have more control over each character’s shape, there isn’t a rationale for it.
