    Hey,

    I have a:

    278×208
    Square Pixels
    15f/sec
    Full Res
8 Second composition in AE 7.0

Only 3 layers, one being my signature that appears using the Stroke effect.

When I export as an Animated Gif, the resulting animation has a lot of red and blue noise dots over the majority of the image. I’ve tried a bunch of different frame rates, and output settings and cannot get rid of them.
It exports fine as an AVI… y can’t i get a clean GIF??

    Thanks in advance,

    Skeets

I don’t know, but here’s how I make my Animated GIFs:

Render a Lossless movie out of AE
Open movie in ImageReady (part of Photoshop install)
    Create Animated GIF from ImageReady

[Skeeter] “When I export as an Animated Gif, the resulting animation has a lot of red and blue noise dots over the majority of the image.”

The artefacting sounds like it’s the result dithering. Try to reduce the number of colors in your image. GIF’s contain 256 colors – total. Stay away from wide gradients. See if this does the trick. Wes’ suggestion should work provided ImageReady does a better job in reducing the colors/optimizng the palette for the GIF animation – chances are that it does.
