June 2, 2009 at 9:22 pmHi! What’s the best plugin for after effects to create animated backgrounds like clouds or anything like this, in order to use it as displacement maps. Thanks in advance….

If you’re more in the mood to create something yourself without starting from the presets, you can always start with fractal noise. It’s one of the most powerful effects that come with AE.– The Great Szalam

June 2, 2009 at 11:27 pmThe new version (CS4) also includes a turbulent displace under your effects (maybe under noise or distort), which can simplify the process of making a displacement map. Just apply it as an effect to the desired layer. Not as flexible as being able to see your displacement map by using turbulent noise, but handy for a quick cloudy/watery displacement.

June 3, 2009 at 8:44 pmThanks, guys. I have AE 7 in my job. It has fractal noise, but I don’t like it very much; probably I am wrong whit this. I don’t remember now, but I think that Digieffects delirium has a plugin that make clouds, bubbles and so, but I can’t find it in their web. Anyway, thanks so ever much…
