It’s important to think about what happens exactly when the small circle changes direction: should the other circles stay where they are, and only start following down when their “leader” has passed their own y-value ?

Or should they stretch? All of them moving proportionally back at the same time until the smallest one goes beneath the zero mark?

Or does changing direction cause a rippling wave ?

    Sorry! I’ll explain better 🙂
They all move proportionally backwards at the same time until the smallest one passes below the zero mark. The biggest one always stays in the same place and the smallest one is the one that proportionally oscillates and drags the others up and down, as if it were chewing gum.

Ok, sounds like you can take the difference between the large one and the smallest one, and multiply that by 1/4 , 2/4 , 3/4. If the large one (which never moves) is not at zero, then those fractions of the distance the smallest one moves, you should add to that base-position.
