Try as I may to digest the Resolve manual there are some very simple functions that are still allusive.
Animating a power window with interpolation and without auto tracking seems to be one of them.

Manual states “mark the upper and lower frames within the clip by pressing the ‘Mark’ button. These points will be represented as white lines within the user interface timeline.”

Were should these white lines appear when in the Viewer? Are ‘upper’ & ‘lower’ frames referring to start and end points for interpolation?

    Thoughts most appreciated.

    Cheers,

You are in the Viewer page now, right? Where you do the tracking? I have experience the same, but haven’t really thought of it much except “I must be doing something wrong”.

I believe you could make a keyframe (hit the All/Color/PZTR menu item to make keyframes only on your selected node for better control! You will see a green line indicating the selected node in the lower right) starting a Dynamic – and then adding a marker whenever you want the change to happen. These keyframes also works with loads of other settings like blur and color adjustments.

    Thank you for writing Ola.
the (Al/Color/PZTR) is a Davinci Panel menu item? We are working with a Wave.
We see no indication of key frames in Viewer mode?

I haven’t cracked the code for doing it in the Viewer page. The way I explained is done in the Color page. Lower right corner holds a mini timeline for the selected clip of interest. Keyframes will appear here. (Add them through shortcuts or the Dynamics menu item).

To toggle between the modes, there’s a menu item. I don’t have Resolve in front of me now – just take a look through the menus on top of the app.

Got it….yes have muddled through in the Color page but not the Viewer page.
So odd that the technical manual is so absolutely vague and very shallow on these kinds of ‘nuts and bolts’ every day functions?
