  • Animate a single block of text (Text Animators)

    Hi all

For some reason I seem to enjoy using text animators they are (kind of) logical I think. Anyway I have two lines of text moving from one ‘X’ position to to another ‘X’ position using a text animator.

    All good it works fine…but

I don’t want the text to animate by ‘character’, or by ‘character exc spaces’ or ‘words’ or ‘lines’ I want the whole block of text to move at the same time and i can’t get my head around of how to do it. I thought i could do something with the Start and End points to force this to happen but now I’m starting to think this isn’t possible with a text animator.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance

Why not just animate the layer?

There are options to move a line a word or per character.

Yes I would do, but I’d like to use the text animator if possible

You could simply keyframe the position property of the animator.

I think any other way would involve multiple animators, one for each line and that would be considerably more work : )

I think you’re right, seems to be the way to go.

I’m just amazed there isn’t another option on the drop down:

    Character

    Character exc Spaces

    Words

    Lines

    All

So obvious/simple. After Effects is weird
