    Hi,

I have a series of paintings that Im compositing together inside after effects.
Id like to animate the textures in some sort of interesting way.

Ive seen some great examples recently where people have animated some of Van Goghs paintings.
Ive also seen this effect used on instagram with still photographs.

The Van Gogh example says it was made in Open Frame Works.

However Im wondering if there is any way to create this effect inside After Effects?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Heres some links to examples:

well you can either use other animations as a displacement maps..but i do have one little trick..you can mask out certain sections of the image and throw a particle world on there with a lens convex or concave on the particle type…the only problem with this is that the particles stop at the mask
