This is such BS, I put a circle shape to highlight a person’s face on a still, and it seems to work fine, until it gets rendered and plays, it shakes like a wet dog in a thunderstorm. Same kind of jitter you get when you try and animate tracking on a text generator. What bulls__t.

Yeah, yeah, roundtrip to Motion, but why? Why doesn’t this BASIC functionality work? What a stupid waste of time.

    Have a wonderful day.

FCPs masking or lack of there of is horrible. Yes. It is true.

Motion or AE, I know you don’t want to, but you should.

    I feel your pain.

Here is a stunning, free plug-in that is perfect for highlights on faces, etc:

    Sonofa,

Really? The Marcus plug works perfect, absolutely great, but thanks Jeremy, I’ll look for that.

    Have a wonderful day.

Not sure if it’ll work better for you, but it’s in the Effects > Video Filters > Stylize > Vignette directory.

    Hey Jeremy,

FYI yes, I found it, it is surely handy for regular vignettes, but it does not have an animatable center point. It just works on the whole frame. Marcus’ filter is perfect.

    Have a wonderful day.
