I can’t seem to find this question anywhere so if it’s been previously asked my bad. I recently completed work on a feature film. It was shot on the DX-100A in 24p 16:9. While on location I captured some footage to edit a short sequence together but when I captured it I captured it in 4:3 so it became letterboxed.

Now that I’m back home I captured all the footage again including the previous footage, but this time in 16:9. Everything looked fine until I imported the sequence I previously edited in 4:3. That sequence adds letterboxed black bars to the already anamorphic footage. The footage was captured in 16:9, the sequence settings has anamorphic checked, so why is this footage being letterboxed? I’d prefer not to re-edit the sequence if I don’t have to.

    Any suggestions?

The browser has a column for Anamorphic. Change the settings for the Master Clips there. After that, copy/paste the clips from the 3:2 sequence into the anamorphic one.

Actually, what it turned out was I needed to remove a distort filter from each clip in the sequence. Don’t entirely get it but whatever. It was resolved. Thanks for the suggestion though.
