  Anamorphic Export from FCE

  Greetings all,

  Way amateur question here: I’ve started a project in Final Cut Express which I’m told was shot in Anamorphic DV. I did a cut and got approval on my automagically letterboxed ouput. Now the director would like the output of the project to be “squished” – wants the image to remain anamorphic 16×9 (I think that’s what I mean) such that the DVD player/MiniDV Deck/digital projector (this is never going to filmout) does the aspect correction on the playback side.

  With an adaptor lens or not, I just don’t know.

  So I’ve run through my output options (under DV format) and the closest I’ve come to is a letterboxed, “squished” image.

  Any advice on how I can output this to MiniDV or file in the same aspect it was shot?
