i’m digitizing my footage in offline rt ntsc anamorphic, but when i go to import the clips into my fcp project, final cut doesn’t recognize the anamorphic flag, and the media comes in squished. i have to manually check the anamorphic box for each clip, which on its own wouldn’t be that bad, but multiple editors are working on this project, so if one of them were to import this media and not recognize that it’s not coming in anamorphic, things would have to be re-edited.

    thanks in advance!

FC normally only recognize Anamorphic on capturing, and this because you check the Anamorphic window. Even when you export something Anamorphic from FC and you re-import it, FC doesn’t knows that is Anamorphic unless you check it manually.

thanks for the answer rafael. looks like we’re stuck doing it manually!
an “import as” feature would help tremendously. anyone work at apple and want to suggest this? 😀

had the same issue. did a little poking around. you need to go to audio/video settings, capture tab, select the preset you normally use for the media you import, duplicate it, edit it, and check off anamorphic.

    Hope that helps.
