    Hi all–

I’m thinking about buying the anamorphic adapter for the DVX (I have a DVX100P model) and I have a few questions/concerns:

    1) I remember hearing a while back that the lens didn’t stay on the camera well. Any tips on how to avoid a broken lens?

    2) I would like to get a 16:9 lcd monitor that I can put on the hotshoe, seeing as the LCD will not give me proper monitoring of the image. Any recommendations?

    3) Any recommendations on where to buy? I’m thinking B&H because I’ve had good luck with them, but they’re fairly pricey (I figured the price would have dropped on this lens by now with all of the 16:9 native cameras coming out recently…hmm).

    Thanks for your help,

    Jay

    Hi,

I would strongly recommend you buying & reading “The DVX Book.”

    https://www.dvxuser.com/articles/dvxbook/

It will give you an insight into using the anamorphic adapter (and the camera) that you probably won’t find anywhere else….

I recently purchased the anamorphic adapter for my camera from B&H but basically returned it after reading this book – largely because I shoot in low light situations at longer focal lengths and sharpness was going to be an for me issue… (Plus I would rather put that money towards the new camera at this point.)

So, you may want to make sure the adapter works for your shooting situations.
