Anamorphic 16:9 Project Question
I have a 16:9 project that will be output to DVD. My footage is a combination of 4:3 SD footage and various resolutions of JPEG photos. The goal is to build a ~2min. fast-cutting video that will show full screen footage/pix (which may be difficult w/ a 16:9 sequence and 4:3 video footage) and then, at times, push back the video, revealing other boxes of video/pix, move aroung a bit, and then zoom back into a full frame of video/pic, or one image occupying several boxes that fill the screen. My questions/concerns/strategies are as follows:
-I think i need to build the entire sequence in a very large resolution sequence, which I would then edit into a 720×486 sequence (we have a pinnacle card/breakout box to edit with beta footage) with the “anamorphic 16:9” box checked. Then I could focus on areas of the large seqence, push back, move around and zoom in again, without losing resolution, keeping the boxes “locked” relative to eachother and having a large canvas to work with. Does this sound like the best way to do it?
-How big should I make my large sequence that I will move around/zoom into? Should it be anamorphic 16:9 also?
-any particular size for the Pictures?
-should I tag my 4:3 footage as “anamorphic”? I’m thinking no, but wanted to ask…
-I can probably have my boxes of video/pix be standard 4:3 size, which would solve the challenge with my 4:3 footage, and just have a minimum of 2 boxes on screen at all times.
-any ideas would be apprciated!
