Analyze Footage for Cut points?
seem to remember a function that I saw at NAB last year, but I’m not sure this really exists in FCP.
You could take a 30 minute clip, drop it on a timeline, and Final Cut could put a cut mark on all of the camera start and stop points.
Am I remembering that correctly, or did I have too many mushrooms for lunch that day?

You might already know this, but if the clip is DV, you can use DV start stop detect within Final Cut.
