  • Analog line in on the Canon GL 1

I’m trying to record some analog footage into a Mini DV Tape with my Canon GL1. I followed the steps as are mentioned on the instructions manual. I connnected the S-Video to the camera, in the VCR mode I press Rec Pause button and then when I released the pause bottom, the camera doesn’t record and the following message appears “Check the DV input”.
    What I’m doing wrong?
    Thanks
    Paulo

This is the procedure for recording analog to Mini-DV with a GL2. Check the owner’s manual for your GL1 but it’s probably similar:

Go to VCR setup > AV-DV Out in the camera menu. Set this to OFF. Now the signal should be sent through to the RCA/S-Video conections instead of the DV/Firewire connection.
