I am desperatly trying to figure out why my audio and video are out of sync after I capture from a VHS deck into my Kona LHe.

I am digitizing Composite IN from a VHS deck. The audio goes out of the deck into a small mixer then into the Analog IN on the breakout box.

I have tried digitizing to both the internal and external hard drives with the exact same problem every time.

With the Capture window open in FCP, the audio and video are in sync. When the Capture window is up during the capture process, the audio and video are in sync. Only when I play back the digitized footage is it out of sync. The video gradually gets ahead of the audio after only a couple of minutes.

Any ideas why this is happening?

You probably need to hook up your VHS deck to a TBC/Frame Sync. A VHS signal is very unstable.

If you dont have one, dub the tape to mini DV or some other more stable format.
