Ok…I have been seeing this effect frequently and I am not to sure how to achieve it. For example…on promos for the new Robbie Knievel reality show it shows him talking to the camera….but around his body is some sort of a stroke or something…like a white border around his body. I like the effect…I also see it on the Disney channel alot when my daughter is watching her shows.

Any thoughts on how I can achieve this? would the subject need to be filmed in fron of a green screen? Or could I do this on existing footage?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Shooting on green or blue screen is always the best option, otherwise you would need to rotoscope the subject but either way it would be best to have the subject on a separate layer, then you could use the Auto Mask feature (not necessary if you are rotoscoping using masks) and the Stroke effect or you could use the Fill and Matte Tools effects.
