Unfortunately my boss at work is in love with his webcam and insists on us watching him talk to us in meetings (we are all remote workers) using Microsoft office Communicator

Now his latest thing is changing the background to being underwater, in the countryside, on the moon, outside the whitehouse, etc. VERY CORNY – YES and VERY embarassing for all of us…. ANYWAY… is there a simple way to do something like this in Vegas without a novice like me killing myself?

I have some footage of a short lecture which I have been asked to spice up. It is very dry, dull material and it was recorded on a tripod however I am lucky to have ample footage of the background without the speaker…. so …

    I read this thread:
    https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/894250

Which ended up with me reading this tutorial:
    https://www.sundancemediagroup.com/articles/dayvids/difference_masking_in_sony_vegas.htm

It’s good and it’s what i want to do! So I followed the instructions up to where it says “Now come the filters, this is what makes it all work – but there’s a sneaky little trick that you very likely do not know” … but then I really got lost.

So does anyone have a tips for a person ignorant of filters, etc to do this? Or is there any easier way to do this like this $25 webcam does?

    thanks guys!
