Deciding between 2 models of MacBook Pro and the $500 also has to do with a drop in SSD size, but can anyone tell me just how much of a difference .3GHz and 2mb of L3 cache would hit the system? Would I see a 20% increase in speed for CPU related work in FCPX or maybe just 10-15% or a smoother editing experience perhaps? I doubt the .3GHz would matter much, but not really sure how much of a role CPU cache has when editing projects of all sizes and complexities. I’d rather put the $500 towards a better monitor or new keyboard or whatever else, but if the speed is a decent amount better i’d consider tossing the money at that instead.
