An expression on “saturation”
Hi ! 🙂
I’m trying to make an expression on the saturation (which is into ColorBalance-TLS). I write “saturation”, at the place I wrote “scale”, “opacity”… but this word seems not to be recognized !
I work on a french version of AE, but the expressions remains in english. But I checked it : the english translation for “saturation” (french) is… saturation !!So, could you tell me what I have to write instead of “saturation” ? I tried with “saturate”, with “sature”, but it didn’t work.

You should be able to use the pick whip to generate the syntax. This is what I get:
thisComp.layer(“Layer 1”).effect(“Color Balance (HLS)”)(“Saturation”)

I tried what you proposed, but unfortunately it doesn’t work : writing ” effect(“Color Balance (HLS)”)(“Saturation”)
” at the place of “scale”, “opacity” or else, I’m given this message :
Impossible to find the effect named “Color Balance (HLS)”I don’t understand why… Do you have an idea ??

French vs English maybe? Did you try using the pick whip? It should generate the correct syntax for the version you’re using.

Sorry, I had to tell you I don’t know what is the pick whip… But it seems to be very interesting !! 😉
Maybe you can explain its function in a few words, and I will try to find it in my french version ? -
When you first create an expression (by Alt+clicking) you start out in edit mode. If you click on the little spiral thing (near the “=” that disables the expression) and drag it to some property, the property will become highlighted. When you let go of the mouse, the text necessary to reference that property will be inserted into your expression. Try it – it should solve your problem.

The pick whip was the solution !! 🙂 I didn’t even think to use it ! You were right !The right name was :
effect(“Balance des couleurs (TLS)”)(“Saturation”)
(written in french into an english language… All mixed !!)Thank you for the idea ! (and for your patience… 🙂
