An error occurred preparing the disc + failed to connect ipc
I was attempting to render and burn a blu ray.
Now, I have previously successfully rendered and burned a 2 hour blu ray but this time when I tried to do it, the first attempt I got:
error preparing image
failed to connect ipc port
system can’t find the file specifiedI’m guessing that I lost the connection w the usb port?
I know sometimes the connection gets lost i.e. if I look in DEVICE MANAGER I will see the yellow, yield or caution icon indicating the port is not functional.
I reboot and the port functions again.
I didn’t think to look in device manager but I am guessing that the error means for some reason the usb port stopped functioning?
SO I attempted a second render after shutting off all background processes via msconfig and disabled all start up items and rebooted which possibly reset the usb port – if indeed that was the cause of the first error.
Second attempt I made it appeared that I made it all the way through the render, as far as I can tell, of the 2 hour project but got the error mssg:
an error occurred preparing the disc.
I had the same un-rewritable disc in the blu ray burner both times.
I thought being as the render failed at that 28% complete point the first attempt that I could still use the same disc for the second attempt.
When going through the, “MAKE MOVIE” steps I select;
render image and burn
1920 x 1080 10mbps (the frame size showing of the footage I shot)
File path c drive (where ms 13 project is, my clips are on d drive)Any ideas why I got the error messages?
Maybe the disc somehow got written on during the first render/burn attempt? It never made it all the way through render so I figured it was still empty.
Under properties, it shows as 100% of the space is free.
I tried attaching a screen shot in of the make movie selections using word but it said file type not supported.
