AME Doesn’t Pay Attention to Premiere Out Points
I discovered this bizarre bug in AME CS6 today. I have a batch of sequences that I created that were 15s long originally, but then were required to be 15s03f long. ‘No problem!’ I thought, ‘I’ll move the out point and work area end forward 3 frames. That way I don’t have to go through and change every After Effects comp that’s dynamically linked or rate stretch my content. It’s just 3 frames of black at the end that will go unnoticed.’
And it does work, but only if I export it the right way.
The way I would normally do it: highlight my batch of sequences and drag them into Media Encoder
The Result: AME ignores my out points (despite being told that that’s what I want to use) and exports the length of the sequence (15:00, contents length). The Way I Have to Do It: manually opening a dialog for each sequence, telling it to use out point or work area and then clicking Queue.
The Result: Files of Proper Length – 15;03.(I’m using BitRate Viewer to determine the number if frames after the files have been encoded)
Why is this happening? It’s really annoying.
