Upon launching Media Encoder, I get this error:

    AMT Subsystem Error
Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS6. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated. Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder.

ugh. Another FCP to Adobe transition issue for me to deal with…

I’ve tried launching PP. I’ve launched and ran Adobe application Manager and updated Premiere and a few others. I’ve tried shutting down the computer and restarting.

A google search reveals I’m not the first person to experience this. But I’ve yet to find any solutions to the problem. Can anyone help me?

In case anyone comes here looking for a solution, I have one.

I called tech support and spent a couple of hours. The recommendation was to unistall the creative suite and reinstall from the cloud. That took some time. When it was done, I was able to launch Adobe media encoder.

Background. I had purchased a used MBP. It already had the adobe suite on it. I then purchased the adobe suite creative cloud subscription. So, even though the programs were on my computer, they weren’t necessarily registered to me (except for the lightroom app I had installed after I subscribed). So, this may not be the same background as you and this may not solve your problem, but it solved mine.

However, it also created a problem. Next time I opened a premiere project, my mts files (from a panasonic a f100) had become unlinked. And because I’m on Mountain Lion, you can’t just navigate to the specific mts file (Mountain Lion does something strange to the AVCHD file structure). So, another call to tech support and they were able to type the name of the file in the search field in the re-link window and I was able to find that file.

I am having the same problem with AME not launching indicating that the Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated. I’ve recently had to re-license every Adobe product I’ve downloaded. And still I get this AMT Subsystem Error.
    Any other suggestions?

I can tell you that I went through a LOT with customer no-service. The only solution was a complete wipe of Adobe software and reinstall, from the creative cloud. So you’ll first have to download and install the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. Not sure the link, but I’ve saved the file in case I need to do this again.

Using that you can uninstall all the creative suite apps. This is different than just deleting the apps from the apps folder. It’s an actual uninstall. This is the KEY for this to work.

Then, go ahead an install your creative suite and updater or whatever. It’s a dang pain because of all the download time and all the preferences you’ll lose.

To me, this is a simple licensing issue and should be fixable through a simple script or something. But, this solution was all the Adobe could give me (after this happening to me three times as a result of bad hard drives and back up machines). Good luck.
