    Hello Cow,

I tried searching for this on the archive, but didn’t find anything. So forgive me if this has been asked and answered.

I’m trying to cut material from one sequence into another in an Avid Newscutter Adrenaline on a Dual 3.4GHz Intel Pentium 4. Mind you, this is something I do all the time.

However, today for the first time, my Avid is doing something it doesn’t do all the time. It is saying “edit is ambiguous due to lock constraints.” There is also a green marker that looks like a flag turned down in the position bar of the sequence I’m cutting from.

I think the two things must be related, since I’ve never had such an error message before, and I’ve also never before seen this strange little green flag.

Any ideas about how this all started, and how to undo it? My usual technique for getting rid of markers, parking the cursor on them and hitting delete does not work in this case. The only workaround I can find right now is to match frame out of the sequence, then cut the original footage into the sequence I was originally trying to edit into.

(I tried cutting the offending sequence into a new sequence in its entirety, but that doesn’t work either — all the audio previous to the green flag doesn’t come across in the edit. What gives?)

Any ideas would be most welcome.

    Thanks for your expertise, everybody.
