Ok, so I have rendered out a 1280×720 quicktime animation codec from After Effects with intent to deliver on DVD. I know dvd is 720×480, but I also intend to put it on you tube, etc. I am more of a new user to vegas and dvd-arch so I did some researching on settings i should use. Like the VBR or CBR settings and other settings. Also not sure what type of interlacing I should use, since Im not sure what my viewers will be watching my movie on (demo reel) a PC or TV.So I go to render my movie out in Vegas (which is 1 min 45 sec) and noticed a couple things that I found to be strange.

1st thing, that it rendered extremely fast. Im not one to complain about fast renders, but this just seemed too quick. And 2nd, the file size. I dont know how it can compress a 7.5 GB file into a 100MB file.

Anyway, I brought that into Dvd Architect and burned the disc, which takes no longer then a few minutes, and in the end, it seems to be looking alright. So I was just curious if this is normal, or if there are some steps im missing, or if there is nothing to worry about?

QuickTime Animation is a lossless codec that produces huge files. These are a lot larger than whatever the original camera footage is. Going from that to a 100MB MPEG2 file is perfectly fine. 1 min 45 sec is not a very long video and 100MB sounds about right.
