Am I correct here: You can only have ONE copy of a project open at once?
Let me preface what I am about to describe by saying— Yes! It’s true! I am creating somewhat unusual situations with VEGAS in order to ascertain the software’s capabilities and increase my learning!
It’s like this:
I nest a project on a Timeline… where it goes on to behave as though it were a simple track. So far, so good.
Then I think: I want to edit that (older) project, so I right-click on that nested project track and select EDIT IN VEGAS.
To my surprise, an entirely new instance of the entire VEGAS program starts up.
In the new instace of VEGAS, sure enough, there’s my old project on the Timelines for editing.
But…one problem: The video clips (Media Events) I had used (when I first created that Project) are not present in this newly-opened Project. Just black blank spots where masks had been created to let them show through…
Am I right in thinking that only ONE copy of a project can be opened at any one time? In other words, only one copy of VEGAS can have “dibs” on the media clips at any one time?
Wazzup?
Thanks, DAVE
