posted this a while back, just thought id try it again.

The footage is definitely pal, and basically im just wondering if anyone working in HD pal has come accross the same problem. If they havent then im almost certainly missing something…

posted this in magic bullet too, thought i might give her a go here too..

We’ve got mb2.1 going in ae7 with 1080 pal footage (blackmagic dvcpro HD 50i encoded quicktime).

every time i press the auto button in ae it tells me its 1080 60i, i shrug, click to go ahead, it calls an error, saying that it cant convert ntsc to 25p. If i manually go and set footage source to pal in the settings the resulting de-interlace is identical to ae’s own de-interlace. No nice magic bullet algorithms apparent.

    Anybody experiencing anything similar?

    cheers

    A

SPACEMAN suggests that the MB effect will not be as pronounced
on HD as it is on non HD footage. There is more room for improvement
    on non HD footage.
SPACEMAN suggests that you use the solution that gives you the
quickest result on HD. In this case, probably AE’s de-interlace.
SPACEMAN would like more opinions on this post also, as SPACEMAN
could be very wrong about this.
