Am I a moron? Audio mixer, dual mono, can’t hear Track 2
Clearly I am doing something moronic here, but hoping somebody can pick up on it and school me. Feel free to call me a moron in doing so.
Captured 2 tracks of audio along with DVCPRO HD footage. Audio was recorded using two different mic: lav and boom.
Edit both tracks of audio onto tks 1 and 2 in the sequence.
Settings in the “General” tab of “Sequence Settings” are set to “Discrete Channels” (I assume that since these are two diff mics this is correct)
Settings in the “Audio Outputs” tab are set to “Dual Mono” (again, two diff mics, don’t necessarily want them mixed together).
I right-clicked each of the audio tracks in the sequence and set track 1 to audio output 1, track 2 to audio output 2.
Here’s the issue: I’d like to hear each mic isolated, as I’ll be using audio from each of them as the situation warrants. However, for some reason it doesn’t ppear that track 2 is patching through to my speakers. If I solo track one, I see levels and hear the audio from that mic. But if I solo track two, I see the levels bouncing, but no audio is coming out. If I swap which tracks each mic is on, I can hear that mic (formally on track 2) only if I place it into track 1. If I solo track 2 and use downmix on the audio tool, of course I can hear that track then.
Why can’t I hear what’s on track two – even though the levels are obviously moving independently of track 1 per the audio mixer – through my speakers?
