    Greetings,
Are there any 3rd party plugins that do a better job of resizing video clips then the Basic Motion tab?
I’m working on a DVD project that has a talking head shot synchronized with PowerPoint slides. The talking head shot needs to be scaled down so it fits alongside the slides. Doing this with the Basic Motion controls leaves the video looking kinda crappy, and i’ve had to add a deinterlace filter so the speakers eyes don’t look funny and closed.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Although I just add a bit of blur when I scale-down video in FCP.

If you find the right amount of blur, the scaled images look “normal” when reduced.

The strength of Digital Anarchy’s Re-Sizer in scaling up, but I’m sure its just as clean scaling down.

If you’re in FCP version 5 or later, you can open you sequence settings – video processing tab – change motion filtering quality to best.

You’ve probably already done this, but it doesn’t hurt to throw it out there just in case.

Have you tried Motion? I’ve been happy with it’s scaling. It’s better than Final Cuts.
