Can you not Animate a tube with a deformer or two on it?
Can you simply key frame the scale of a selection?

    Or:
You can use PLA but it would be very difficult to repeat of make changes….so
You could connect all the points you want to move to nulls in xpresso then plug the nulls into a user data slider. The user data slider would have to be adjusted but it would work similar to morph target.

I am sure there are more ways.

I’d say that PLA is the best solution without having to make additional purchases. If you just want morphing but don’t want to spring for the whole Mocca module you could buy Cactus Dan’s morphing plugin: https://www.cactus3d.com/CDMorphR9.html

PLA stands for point-level animation: basically animation the position of an object’s points. You enable it by clicking the icon that looks like a grid of points at the bottom right of the time slider.
