alternate compression options..?
Hi guys,
I am planning to upload some stock footage for sale online as single downloadable clips, the most preferred compression codec for cg stock footage, is quicktime png, but I find that some clips dont seem to compress down to acceptable file size limits with this codec, I get file sizes in the range of 120MB (even after compression), could anyone suggest some alternate codec which will compress it down to atleast 80 MB range?
The clips I am compressing are PAL\NTSC (720×576/720×486),25/30 fps, duration around 10 seconds.
please advice.

I prefer Motion JPEG B for stock video, especially if it is interlaced. PNG is RGB 4:4:4 lossless, so it ‘s great for progressive graphics, but lousy compression for interlaced with video source.

Ah, CG normally does quite well with PNG.

I am compressing from after affects, and i have set the compression to best.

My suggestion is Apple Pixlet which comes out of Pixar where CG is all they wrote.
