  • Alter motion blur amount?

Posted by Mark Landsburger on December 3, 2005 at 1:32 am

    Hey all,

I was wondering if there is a way to alter the amount of motion blur you get when checking the layer? I need to tone it down, and the only other thing I could think of (add layer above it with none, and reduce opacity) doesn’t look right.

    Thanks a bunch,

    lands

I assume your talking about toning down the blur on one layer only…
because the overall effect of motion-blur is governed by the shutter setting of a composition.

If changing that doesn’t do it for you:
You can add motion blur as an Effect: Time->Force Motion Blur.
This has quality settings + it has it’s own shutter, deselect “use comp’s shutter” and use a lower value to get a less pronounced smear.
You use it on a layer that does not have Motion-blur enabled.

Go to your Composition Settings > then Click the Advanced Tab, and then change your camera shutter angle to what you desire. HIGHER the angle more blur LOWER the angle less blur.
