  • ALT Key Not Functioning Properly in Media Composer 5

I just did a job for a client the other day and for some reason the alt key wasn’t functioning properly in Media Composer 5. It’s a Windows 7 based machine and when I select a clip in my sequence and press alt+C it doesn’t copy the clip into the source monitor like it should. Instead the file menu just opens up. Anyone know how to clear this problem up? My client has several other rooms that all have the same problem. The alt key does seem to work fine when it’s not being used in Media Composer. (ie. control+alt-delete)
    Thanks

    Try ALT-CTRL-C.

Did some searching around for ya today Joe. This is what I found:

In Settings / Interface, there’s a General tab. Turn off a thing called Windows Standard Alt Key Behavior.

Hope that’s there – no idea since I don’t have a PC with Media Composer…

Thanks for that info Mark. It seem that that tab is a Mac only thing. However Job’s suggestion of CTRL-ALT-C worked like a charm.
    Thanks again guys.
