MacPro FC7, PhotoShop CS5, BlackMagic DeckLink Studio Plus.

Not sure if this is due to recent PhotoShop upgrade, (now there’s not a export/save as .pct option, so been using .png) or something in Final Cut. Was working fine, but now on grafics I create the same way I always have, w/an alpha channel, when I apply over video it’s as if there’s no alpha.

I’ve tried every setting, every preference, every ‘modify’ possibility, and same thing.

Like I said, been doing it the same old way for years never a problem. Did get it to work by just importing the PhotoShop file, and it works as lower third/bug, but can’t add a drop shadow like usual under the ‘motion’ tab.

    Any help much appriciated.

Can you describe your workflow when saving a file in PhotoShop?

For whatever reason PhotoShop CS 5 won’t export .pict any more. Couldn’t find any file type export options that would allow alpha channel to be preserved. Thought .png would, but nahh.

Went back to older version on another machine that allows .pict export and it works fine.

Progress huh? Thanks Adobe for the mega time waste on that one.

.png should work. I use that format all the time and it includes an alpha channel.
