Alpha needs to be solid and not look like RGB.
I am trying to create a sphere by blurring a circular mask then using the same mask to cut out the blur. This works well in RGB but the Alpha looks the same as the rgb. How can I make the alpha a solid white circle while keep the rgb feeling spherical.
See attached image of my simple AE comp stack.

How about a single solid layer, cut with a circular mask, consisting of a Gradient Ramp set to radial, plus Curves or Levels to tweak?
Or an Inner Shadow layer style?
Or a black circle below your stack there, not cut with the blurred version?

You can also adjust alpha channel only with curves.

You can kind of get close by using Emboss, Shift Channels and the Add blend mode. Unfortunately AE lacks the tools to perform normalization on the resulting color values. Perhaps there’s a 3rd party solution.
