alpha madness
I have a QT of a guy standing in front of green screen talking and walking back and forth – I also have the same clip as an alpha matte (well the green has been keyed to white and he is black) so 2 movies –
I need to use the matte footage to key out the back ground of the green screen footage
can someone walk me through this?

New background on track one. Black and white matte on track three and QT of the man on track two. Assign a track matte effect to the track two clip. Tell it to use track three’s clip as a matte.

What I need to export is the guy on a transparent BG – (final use is in flash) – If I understand what you’ve said I will be able to effectively key out the green and have the guy on top of bg1 – problem is – bg1 needs to be transparent –any ideas?

I believe that if you leave track one empty you can export with an Alpha channel, but I would use After Effects and not Premiere Pro for that. But it can be done. Just make sure you pick a codec like Quicktime Animation and choose Millions of Colors + with the “+” sign indicating an alpha channel.
