alpha channels in ProRes?
Posted by Cahier on June 4, 2007 at 11:08 pmDoes anyone know if ProRes supports alpha channels? I have searched various forums, but have not found an answer.

(which could be a good thing because the codec isn’t free or supported on windows which makes it a bad choice for distributing to graphics/effects people. But even then, I wouldn’t mind having the option).

June 5, 2007 at 8:44 amI’f you got FCS2 (I haven’t yet) you can check it by your self. Just try to export a clip from FCs time line and see if you get the “Millions+” option. If is not there ther is not Alpha channel.
Cheers,
