    Hey guys,

I’ve created a scene with a road and an image that floats above it. The image above the road is on a flat plane and is a TIFF with an alpha. I have the alpha settings set to “invert” and “image alpha,” and it seems to work just fine.

However, my road is 10% reflective. I also have an environment map on it set at 5% strength. When I render the scene, the image above the road works just fine, but the reflection in the road shows the black space around the image instead of keying it out like it does in the actual space. Does anyone have any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

Here’s a link to an example of what I’m talking about:

As you can see, the smiley face looks fine above the road, but in the reflection it is not keyed out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Leave evrything as it is amd one possible solution is to:
1.Add a Sky or a Sphere that can act as a sky and
2.Place a Compositing tag to your sphere or sky and uncheck the seen by camera. Dont forget to use the same texture whatcver you applied to the enviroment on your road
I have try to find another solution but these is the one that came acros my mind. Hope it helps.
It seems like a bug. Same thing happened to me when trying to activate the fog in one of my camera map scenes the alpha will show not as much but you can see a tiny bit of the alpha channel.
    Give a try.

Ah, thanks for the tip Edgard! It fixed the problem, but now the reflection on the road isn’t as crisp as it was when I had the image in the environment channel…so now I’ve got to figure out what to do about that, but I’m definitely happy with the result. Thanks for your help!

The reflection on the road is not so crisp..mmmm…well is probably the enviroment image you placed on your sphere or sky object not having enough definition, is it an HDRI ? Try it with an HDRI , if astill doesnt work try on the sky or sphere treating the filter texture as another than MIP filter. It tends to blur a little the image.

The image isn’t HDRI, but it’s still pretty large–3504 x 2336. It doesn’t look bad by any means, but using it as an environment on the road just made it a little sharper. Not a big deal though, it works for what I’m doing. Thanks for the tips!

uncheck ‘Exclusive’ in the Environment channel of your road material
