    Hey Guys,

I am trying to put a muzzle flare over a pistol being fired. I have captured a flare from video which also contains an alpha channel with black backgrounds.

I have my main picture with the pistol on Video 1. I have tried the alpha channel on V2 and then switched to V3 but I still see the black background. I have also checked alpha in the edit-format menu.

What am I doing wrong? Do I also need to add a superimposure or difference mat? Sorry, sort of new to this.

    Thank you very much.

The matte layer goes on the lower track, like V2. The muzzle flash video goes on the upper track, like V3. The V3 clip has the composite mode applied, travel matte luma or alpha, whichever is appropriate.

    All the best,

    Tom

You may also want to try an additive key in the composite mode, it may give a better, more believable key than using your alpha.
