I can’t seem to get the Alpha channel working properly when importing to Sony Vegas. I have a very simple scene with no background.

It did work once but since has either not worked or else only the last frame of the clip was correct.

I have a couple of objects which are lit and a target camera is following a spline,- that’s it. There is no background.

I’d be very grateful for any help with the proper settings for this.

Im not sure about vegas, but After Effects doesnt seem to ever recognise my alpha channels from C4D. Unless i use .RLA format, which i take it Vegas wont handle. I have resorted to importing both the beauty pass and alpha as separate layers and making the alpha into a luma key matte. Again I dont know is this is possible in Vegas. but its certainly worth a try.

Incidentally, I can see the Alpha channel pictures as a series of .TIFF stills in my target folder.

Thanks, Oliver. I managed to make the thing work,- I’m not entirely sure how, – and took screenshots of all the settings!
