So here is the issue….I have PNG’s with alpha channels for lower thirds. Here is the issue….when I import these into my PowerPC machines with FCP….no problem….alpha is interpreted correctly….however when I import them on my Intel machines…the alpha channels are not “seen” and I have to individually modify the alpha channel on each PNG….has anyone else experienced this….or is there a way to the adjust the alpha channel settings for an entire sequence….it is becoming quite annoying to do this to each individual clip. Thanks for your help..

Not seeing this here on our G5’s and Intels. PNG’s with Alphas come in normally. Though our normal mode of operation is just to leave everything as photoshop files with transparency.

    Hi,

Please let me know if the following info helps or if I have misunderstood you.

PNG imports on our INTEL boxes are interpreted correctly – that is, the alpha channel is seeen.

If we want to change the ALPHA type of all images in the bin at one time we select all images and right click on the value in the ALPHA column to select a new value. This is quite common I am sure.

If we want to change the ALPHA type of all images in the sequence at once we ensure we are displaying the ALPHA TYPE buttons in the sequence button bar or have assigned some keyboard shortcuts for ALPHA TYPEs. To change the ALPHA TYPE values we select all clips we want to modify and choose the new ALPHA TYPE using buttons or keyboard shortcuts.

    Maybe there is another way.
