Here is something crazy I need help with.

I import a quicktime movie with an alpha channel using Invert and the whole clip comes in black.

Im import with the Use Existing option and it comes in without the alpha channel.

After scratching my head I decided to trash my user settings. I created a new one and imported the clip and it came in with the alpha chanell perfect.

Then, i mapped my keyboard again because i lost my settings. Then i import a clip and back to the same problem as before. Somehow not using factory user settings is causing my imports to go crazy.

I am on Xpress Pro 5.7. what do i do? I need to map my keyboard to work fast.

dang, man. I feel your pain.
I think it’s on setting/map thats making it fussy. Try mapping one key at a time and import a test after each one is added. When it does it again, thats your candidate. You can then maybe map it a bit differently to work around this.
just a shot in the dark in the name of trouble shooting.

before i read your post i did exactly as you said.

on my first test i mapped 3 keys at a time. once i got to the 6th key the problem occured again. i tried to unmap them to see if that would work and it didn’t.

so i then went key by key, closing the keyboard setting, and importing the clip. it worked perfect. i was able to remap everything key by key and it seems to be working fine now.

let’s hope it stays. to be safe i copied my user settings and put them on another drive. incase i have to bring them back

    sweet
Sometimes a glitch gets saved in your settings, hence having to ditch em and rebuild em. I wish I knew why this was happening to ya. I know it’s frustratig when something finally starts working right but ya learned nothing.
The new Avid is kind of like a chick. Sometimes they are just in a bad mood.
    lol
    (no offense to chicks)
