I can’t get the Alpha channel to show up in Premiere Pro (actually, I don’t know how to). I have a comp I rendered as a TGA sequence (RGB+Alpha / Pre-matted). The background is black. There are 2 layers. Both are text layers. One is white text the other is black text (like a shadow). I then animate the layers via text presets. After I render it, I import it into Premiere Pro 1.5. How do I make it to be transparent. I see the black background.

    Thanks!

If the background in AE is actually a black layer, then alpha or not, you are exporting a black background, not alpha channel. Delete the black layer and re-export.

If the background in AE just looks black and is in fact nothing, then Pro will recognize the alpha channel, but you will need a colored background on V1 in pro to see the alpha effect.

I only have 2 layers in the AE comp (two text layers). I have the background color of the comp as black. Is there a way to make it “transperant” background. I’m not sure how.

    Thanks for your help!

You have to put it on track two in Premiere Pro, and put something on track one under it. Are you doing that? Because if you have it set for Millions of Colors+ then the alpha channel should be there.

Yeah. I have it as that. I have a feeling it has to do with the background in AE. I think I’m not saving it as a transparent background. Not sure how to do that. I’ll research more.

    Thanks.
